Triceratops Roll Past Oakland Community College 75-48

Port Huron, MI

The Triceratops delivered a commanding performance on both ends of the floor, defeating the Oakland Community College Owls 75-48 in the first game of the St. Clair Community College Skippers' Classic.

La'Nia Moore put together a spectacular all-around effort, recording a dominant double-double with 22 points and 20 rebounds, including nine offensive boards that gave her team crucial second-chance opportunities. Moore's impact extended far beyond scoring and rebounding, as she also tallied seven steals and five assists, showcasing her ability to control every facet of the game.

The Triceratops received solid contributions throughout their lineup. Doriana Hastings-Peterson and Syair Young each added 13 points, with Young pulling down eight rebounds to complement her scoring.  Rosalyn Evans chipped in 10 points and four rebounds, while Teavonna Clements provided a spark off the bench with nine points and six boards.

The Triceratops' defensive effort was suffocating, particularly on the perimeter. The Owls struggled mightily from three-point range, connecting on just 8 of 51 attempts for a dismal 15.7% shooting percentage. That defensive intensity, combined with Moore's seven steals, helped the Triceratops control the tempo and build an insurmountable lead.

With this impressive 27-point victory, the Triceratops demonstrated their ability to dominate on both ends of the floor, combining efficient offense with lockdown defense.
