Game 1

Layton O'Rourke got the start and battled through 3.1 innings scattering 7 hits and giving up 5 runs while striking out 6.  He departed with the Tops trailing the Lakers 5-3.  Sloan Ulrich took over and shut down the Lakers for the remainder of the game striking out 6.  The Tops entered the bottom of the 7th trailing 5-3.  Carter Gast led the inning off with a single.  Mason Koons then laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt but a throwing error allowed him to reach 2nd base with Gast coming all the way around to score the 4th run.  Jacob Downey received an intentional walk.  After a strikeout by pinch hitter Kyle Koehler, the scene was set for Carter Blakeman, who took and 0-2 pitch out of the ballpark deep to left field for a three run walk off homerun to send the Tops bench into a frenzy. Gast had two hits to lead the Tops on the day at the plate and Ulrich picked up the win.

Game 2

Once again the Lakers jumped out on top by plating 2 in the top of the 1st and held that lead until the 6th.  Gavin Mangus gave the Tops a quality start by going 5 innings, allowing 7 hits and 3 runs while striking out 6.  The Tops entered the 6th trailing 3-2.  Once again, Gast got things started by drawing a walk.  Koelher then hammered a double to the gap in left center, scoring Gast and tying the game at 3-3.  After a strikeout by Downey, an attempted pickoff got away from the catcher and allowed Koehler to move the go ahead run to third base with 1 out.  Braden Reed pinch hit and drew a walk to set the stage once again for Game 1 hero Carter Blakeman.  Blakeman smashed a ball to deep center field off the fence to drive in both runs and give the Tops the 5-3 lead heading to the Top of 7th.  Ty Pangborn was up to the task as he pitched the final two innings for the win striking out 2 and not allowing a hit.

The Tops move to 12-7 on the season and 6-0 in the OCCAC.
