Cuyahoga Women Surge Past Haggertown CC 73-45, Improve to 12-2

West Palm Beach, Florida – The Cuyahoga Community College women's basketball team delivered a statement performance on a neutral court, dismantling Hagerstown CC 73-45 to extend their impressive season record to 12-2. After trailing by seven at halftime, the squad demonstrated championship composure with a dominant second-half surge that turned a competitive contest into a 28-point blowout.

The game opened with promise as sophomore forward Hayley Stoddard sparked the offense with consecutive buckets, giving Cuyahoga an early 4-2 advantage. However, Hagerstown refused to fold, methodically building momentum through the second quarter. A decisive 6-0 run helped the visitors establish control, and they carried a 30-23 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The third quarter marked the turning point. Sophomore forward Syair Young ignited the comeback immediately out of the break, draining a three-pointer before adding another basket to slice into the deficit. When Stoddard stepped to the charity stripe and calmly knocked down two free throws to knot the score at 30-30, the momentum had completely shifted. Young dominated the period with 7 points, helping the Triceratops build a commanding 11-point  cushion entering the final frame.

The fourth quarter belonged entirely to the Triceratops squad. Freshman wing Tylia Parker opened the period with a crisp three-pointer, extending the lead and crushing any hopes of a Hagerstown comeback. Young then seized complete control, drilling back-to-back three-pointers as part of a personal 6-0 run that effectively ended the contest.

Young led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-21 shooting, including three triples, showcasing the versatility and scoring punch that has made her a centerpiece of the Triceratops' success. Parker provided exceptional efficiency with 15 points on an impressive 6-of-8 shooting performance, while Stoddard matched that total with 15 points (and 15 boards) of her own on 6-of-11 from the field. The balanced attack and depth of scoring options proved too much for Hagerstown to handle.

The victory showcased exactly why Cuyahoga has compiled one of the strongest records in the region this season. Their ability to weather adversity, make critical halftime adjustments, and execute with precision when it mattered most reflects a team with legitimate championship aspirations.

The Triceratops will look to build on this momentum as they remain in West Palm Beach, Florida, for game two of the Palm Beach Classic. With their record now standing at 12-2, the team continues to prove they belong among the elite programs at the junior college level.
