Triceratops Roll Past Wildcats in Season Opener, 79–50

Highland Hills, Ohio — The Triceratops dominantly opened their season on Friday night, cruising to a 79–50 victory over the Wayne County Community College Wildcats.

Freshman Syair Young led all scorers with a game-high 28 points, displaying poise and precision in her collegiate debut. Fellow freshman La"Nia Moore recorded an impressive double-double with
16 points, 11 rebounds, and five steals, contributing on both ends of the floor. Sophomore Jayleena Bauzo added 16 points on an efficient 60% shooting, along with three rebounds and two steals.

Head Coach Dion Griffin commended his team's energy while keeping the group focused on the season ahead.

"It's a long season," Griffin said. "We want to get off to a strong start, but we know there's still a lot of basketball left to be played."

The Triceratops' defensive intensity proved to be the difference, holding the Wildcats to no more than 14 points in any quarter. Their pressure defense disrupted the Wildcats' rhythm and forced
numerous turnovers, keeping the game out of reach from the opening quarter onward.
