Adkins named OCCAC Player of the Year, eight Triceratops land on All-OCCAC Teams

PARMA, Ohio (athletics.tri-c.edu) – The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference released their list of all-conference honorees today, May 18, and the champion Triceratops have their names all over the list with eight total player winners.

Sophomore shortstop Reese Adkins (So./Oak Harbor, Ohio) is the headliner, winning OCCAC Player of the Year (Non-Pitching), Golden Glove, and First-Team All-Conference honors in addition to her placement on the NJCAA Region 12 All-Tournament team two weeks ago. Adkins is hitting .477 on the season with 42 RBIs, 10 stolen bases, a team-high 18 doubles, and three home runs. She has a 0.922 fielding percentage leading to her Golden Glove award. She is one of three Triceratops that nabbed back-to-back First Team All-OCCAC honors.

Head coach Bryan Komlos was also named OCCAC Coach of the Year for leading the Triceratops to a 16-1 record in-conference. It's the fifth time Komlos has taken home the league's Coach of the Year award and first since 2024.

Joining Adkins with their second First Team All-Conference nods are Julee Phillips (So./Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) and Isabelle Kepple (So./Miamisburg, Ohio). Phillips was the ace for the Triceratops, with a miniscule 0.32 ERA over 144 innings with 208 strikeouts. She was named NJCAA Region 12 Tournament MVP after throwing all 19 of the Triceratops' innings and not allowing a single earned run to cross alongside 17 strikeouts. Kepple leads the Triceratops with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs, all while batting .470 on the season.

Brooke Brubaker (Fr./Columbiana, Ohio), Lexi Gray (So./Tallmadge, Ohio/Baldwin-Wallace), Sophie Durbin (So./Mansfield, Ohio/Mount Vernon Nazarene), and Adriana Guarnieri (Fr./Chillicothe, Ohio) were also named First-Team All-OCCAC. Brubaker had a great freshman season in the circle, with a 3.56 ERA across 55.0 innings and 35 strikeouts. Gray led the OCCAC with a .515 batting average, going along with her 42 RBIs and showing excellent vision at the plate, striking out only twice in 130 at bats. Durbin spent most of the season at the top of the Triceratops' batting order with a .451 batting average and 20 stolen bases, which is tied for the most in the OCCAC. Guarnieri burst onto the scene as a freshman with a .370 batting average, 13 stolen bases and 31 RBIs.

Freshman Josi Miliken (Fr./Beloit, Ohio) earned Second-Team All-OCCAC honors after batting .393 with 40 RBIs and three stolen bases.
