Phillips named week's top OCCAC pitcher
PARMA, Ohio (athletics.tri-c.edu) – Sophomore pitcher Julee Phillips (Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio) was named the top pitcher in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference after two complete games – including one no-hitter – April 28.
On the week, Phillips tossed 17 total innings in three appearances. During that time, she struck out 34 batters while allowing only five hits and zero earned runs.
Phillips's first complete game came in a five-inning win over Hocking College, April 24. She pitched her second no-hitter of the season against the Hawks with 12 strikeouts. Later in the week, Phillips took her game on the road with a seven-inning complete game, allowing only two hits and punching out 12 batters.
Phillips is the unquestioned ace of the Triceratops' staff, throwing 99.1 innings on the season with a sterling 0.35 ERA. She's struck out 169 batters on the season, representing over half of the Triceratops' punch outs.

Phillips and the Triceratops will conclude their Maryland trip and regular season today, April 28, with a doubleheader against CCBC Catonsville. First pitch from Catonsville is scheduled for 3 p.m.
