Triceratops Softball Steamrolls Owens CC Express in Dominant Saturday Sweep, Phillips Dazzles in Game One Shutout
Game 1 | Triceratops 10, Owens CC Express 0
Julee Phillips took the circle Saturday and was simply untouchable. Delivering a complete game shutout, Phillips punched out eight batters and gave the Express offense no opportunity to establish any rhythm from first pitch to final out. Her command, composure, and ability to generate weak contact was a masterclass performance that set the tone for the entire afternoon.
The offense gave Phillips all the run support she needed and then some. Jayliana Wilt was the standout at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs a disciplined, productive performance from a hitter who made the most of every at-bat. Isabelle Kepple and Adriana Guarnieri each added doubles of their own, contributing to an offense that applied relentless pressure and kept the Express defense scrambling all game long.
Game 2 | Triceratops 17, Owens CC Express 4
If the opener was a pitching gem, the nightcap was an offensive explosion. The Triceratops bats came alive in Game 2, generating 17 runs in a performance that showcased the dangerous, top-to-bottom depth of this lineup.
Reese Adkins was nothing short of electric, delivering one of the most complete offensive games of the season going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBIs, a triple, and a stolen base. Her ability to impact the game in every facet hitting for extra bases, manufacturing runs, and applying pressure on the bases is exactly what makes this offense so difficult to contain.
Sophia Durbin was equally impressive and equally relentless. Durbin went 2-for-2 at the plate with two hits, three RBIs, two runs scored, a triple, and a double putting the barrel on the ball with authority and delivering back-breaking blows that extended the lead and extinguished any hope of an Owens comeback.
