TRICERATOPS STRIKER AMIT MAHAT CLAIMS OCCAC CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cuyahoga Community College men's soccer standout Amit Mahat has been named Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Co-Player of the Week, the league announced today. The explosive forward's stellar two-match performance helped propel the Triceratops to a crucial victory and a conference tie during the past week.

GAME-CHANGING PERFORMANCES

Mahat showcased his scoring prowess and clutch gene throughout the week, finding the back of the net in both contests while demonstrating the clinical finishing that has become his trademark. His most spectacular moment came in a nail-biting 1-0 victory over St. Clair County, where the dynamic striker buried the game-winning goal to secure all three points for Cuyahoga.

The versatile forward's ability to rise to the occasion when his team needed him most exemplified the leadership and composure that have made him one of the OCCAC's most feared attacking threats this season.

RARE COMPANY

With this recognition, Mahat becomes just the second Triceratops player since 2015 to earn OCCAC Player of the Week (Baraka Mwakilasa) honors this season, joining an exclusive club of standout performers who have elevated their games to conference-elite status. This achievement underscores both his individual brilliance and the rising profile of Cuyahoga's soccer program.

BUILDING MOMENTUM

Mahat's explosive week comes at a crucial juncture in the Triceratops' campaign, as the team continues to build momentum toward the postseason. His consistent goal-scoring threat and ability to deliver in pressure situations have emerged as defining characteristics of Cuyahoga's attacking identity. Coach Devan Anderson believes Mahat has the best shot on the team. "Mahat needs to shoot more; his stroke is pure," said coach Anderson.

The recognition marks another milestone in what has been a breakout season for both Mahat and the Triceratops, as they continue to establish themselves as legitimate contenders in the competitive OCCAC landscape.

The OCCAC Co-Player of the Week award recognizes the conference's top performers based on their statistical achievements and impact on team success during the previous week of competition.
