Cold Shooting Sinks Triceratops in 68-63 Loss to Glen Oaks Vikings

Port Huron, MI

The Triceratops' offense sputtered throughout the contest, shooting a dismal 33% from the field and an ice-cold 15.4% from three-point range on 39 attempts. The poor perimeter shooting forced the team to rely heavily on shots in the paint, but the Vikings' interior defense limited those opportunities and kept the Triceratops at arm's length when it mattered most.

Bright Spots Emerge Despite Loss

While the team struggled collectively, several individual performances provided hope for the games ahead. "Favor" McFadden led all Triceratops scorers with 15 points on a scorching 83% shooting, showcasing his efficiency in limited attempts. Corey Wilson matched that shooting percentage while recording a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, including five offensive boards that gave his team crucial second chances. Chase Abraham rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points, providing a third reliable scoring option.

Execution Issues Prove Costly

Despite the efficient performances from McFadden and Wilson, the Triceratops couldn't generate enough consistent offense to overcome their shooting woes. The five-point margin suggests the game was winnable, but too many missed opportunities from beyond the arc and inconsistent shot selection ultimately tilted the contest in Glen Oaks' favor.

Moving Forward

The Triceratops will need to shake off the shooting struggles quickly, as they face St. Clair Community College in Game II of the Skippers Classic. Improved ball movement and better shot selection will be critical if they hope to avoid a 0 - 2 tournament record. Game two is set for 5p on 6 December 323 Erie St. | P.O. Box 5015
