Bio

Mike Piero, Ph.D. (he/him) is the inaugural Head Coach and Program Lead of Cuyahoga Community College's Esports Team as well as a Professor of English there. His academic work in game studies includes his monograph, Video Game Chronotopes and Social Justice (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021), his edited collection, Being Dragonborn: Critical Essays on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (McFarland & Co., 2021), and other essays/articles on American culture, video games, and postmodernist literature that have been published across five countries. His creative writing has appeared in J Journal, Rain Taxi, Midway Journal, Moveable Type, Impost, The Sandy River Review, Boudin, Oak Tree Journal, and Trash Cat Lit.
