OCCAC names Jamir Ross Co-Player of the Week

PARMA, Ohio (athletics.tri-c.edu) – The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference named center fielder Jamir Ross (R-Fr./Dayton, Ohio) Co-Player of the Week after a blistering hot week at the plate, April 28.

Over the course of last week's action, Ross batted .625 with six extra base hits, including two home runs in an away doubleheader against Edison State. Ross was instrumental in the six Triceratops wins, scoring 12 runs and knocking in 10 RBIs.

Ross also added considerable defensive value manning center field. A full-faceted player over the week, the redshirt freshman also swiped nine bases on an 82 percent success rate with six walks.

He was joined by Bryant & Stratton's Gavin McLane, who went 11-for-19 with 11 RBIs over the week.

UP NEXT

Ross and the rest of the Triceratops will be back in action for an OCCAC-defining series against Bryant & Stratton College (Ohio) this weekend. The series will kick off at Ron Mottl Field, May 1 with the first pitch for the doubleheader scheduled for 5 p.m.

The winner of the four-game slate will take home the OCCAC Division II crown.
