Triceratops surge past Lakeland in Monday matinee
KIRTLAND, Ohio (athletics.tri-c.edu) - In an offensive barrage, the Cuyahoga Community College baseball team (16-12, 4-1 OCCAC) handled rival and Ohio Community College Athletic Conference foe Lakeland Community College (9-21, 1-2 OCCAC) by an 18-4 mark, April 13.
The Triceratops' bats exploded for their third highest run total of the season, behind 19 runs scored in a win over Terra State, March 21, and 23 runs scored in a win over Lansing Community College, March 15. This contest marks the ninth time Tri-C has crossed into the double digits in runs, with the Triceratops going 9-0 in those contests.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Lakeland struck first, jumping out to a short-lived 2-0 in the first inning.

The Triceratops would not stay down for long, plating six runs in the third inning to take control of the contest behind a bevy of walks and Laker errors.

The game quickly moved to 6-4 as the Lakers scored two runs of their own in the bottom of the third.

Tri-C took a commanding lead of the game after chasing Lakeland starting pitcher Ethan Duncan in the fourth, tallying 12 more runs in the following four innings.

Tri-C and Lakeland will close the two-game weekday series tomorrow, April 14, at the Lakeland Baseball Field in Kirtland, Ohio. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.
