Triceratops Bats Erupt for 31 Combined Runs in Saturday Doubleheader Sweep, 10 Stolen Bases Fuel Historic Game Two

Saturday, 21 March 2026 vs. Terra State Titans

Game 1 | Triceratops 12, Terra State 1

The Triceratops picked up right where they left off in Game 1 of Friday's opener — only this time, the offensive outburst came even earlier. Batting around in a seven-run second inning, the Triceratops sent a clear message that they had come to play and were not interested in allowing the Titans any path back into the ballgame.

Joey Lehner was the standout performer of the afternoon, going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate, driving in four runs, and crossing the dish twice — a complete, professional performance at the plate from a hitter who controls the strike zone and makes consistent hard contact. Zeylen Yanmaz added two RBIs of his own, continuing to prove his value as a reliable run-producer in the heart of the lineup.

On the mound, Vinny Gallaher was equally impressive — dealing with command and conviction through seven innings of work, punching out seven batters and surrendering just one earned run. Gallaher's ability to pile up strikeouts while keeping the pitch count manageable gave the Triceratops exactly the kind of quality start that wins conference series.

Game 2 | Triceratops 19, Terra State 8

If Game 1 was a statement, Game 2 was an exclamation point. Despite spotting the Titans five early runs and finding themselves in an early hole, the Triceratops never flinched — responding with a relentless offensive barrage that produced 19 runs and left no doubt about who the better team on the field was.

The production was distributed throughout the entire lineup, with seven Triceratops hitters recording two RBIs each — a testament to the depth, balance, and top-to-bottom danger this offense presents on any given day:

Brayden Bortnick set the tone at the top of the lineup, doubling, swiping three bags, and recording three hits in a gritty, high-energy performance that ignited the offense and kept the Titans' defense scrambling all afternoon.

Perhaps the most telling sign of this team's aggression and baseball IQ was their work on the base paths the Triceratops swiped an eye-popping 10 stolen bases on the afternoon, applying constant pressure, manufacturing runs, and forcing the Titans into a series of costly defensive breakdowns. It was a clinic in aggressive, smart baserunning that reflects the identity this program is building.
