Triceratops Dominate Lakers 11-1, Extend Streak to 17 Games
In game two of their Ohio Community College Conference (OCCAC) series, the Triceratops (18-5, 6-0) continued their unstoppable run, cruising to an 11-1 victory over the Lakeland Lakers. With the win, the Triceratops extended their impressive winning streak to 17 games, leaving little doubt about the outcome from the very first pitch.
The offense was relentless, scoring in every inning except the second, showcasing their depth and consistency. The Triceratops set the tone early with two runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back. A dominant performance at the plate was led by Vinny Gallaher, who finished with three hits and four RBIs. His powerful bat fueled the offense throughout the game, while Joey Lehner added two RBIs, and Pat Farrell contributed two hits, and three runs, and played a key role in setting the table for the offense.
On the mound, Mitchell Harder delivered a complete game masterpiece. The right-hander was in control all night, striking out seven batters and allowing just one earned run on four hits. His command and efficiency were critical in ensuring the Triceratops stayed firmly in control, never giving the Lakers a chance to mount a serious comeback.
Coach Kyle Stahlberg praised his team's performance after the game, emphasizing the collective effort: "It was a total team effort, sparked by exceptional pitching. Mitchell was outstanding on the mound, and our offense took care of business across the board."
With this dominant victory, the Triceratops continue to assert their dominance in the OCCAC, as they prepare for the final game of the series with their sights set firmly on maintaining their perfect conference record.
