Tri-C Baseball Splits Doubleheader with Terra State

The Tri-C Baseball team, playing their first official home games in over two years, split an OCCAC doubleheader Wednesday with Terra State CC.

In game one, Sloan Ulrich gave the Tops 5 a strong start and it looked like it would be all Tri-C as they led 8-3 after 5 innings but a disastrous 6th inning where the Titans roared back to score 7 and take the lead that they would never relinquish and defeat the Tops, 12-8.  Tri-C was led by Kyle Koehler with two hits and two RBI's, while Braden Reed scored three runs and drove in one from the leadoff spot.  Autin Kazmierczak and Silas Moore also drove in runs.

In game two, it was never close as Layton O'Rourke threw an absolute gem on the mound for the complete game shut out, scattering three hits and striking out seven while walking only 1.  The Tops offense came to life, pounding out 15 hits including five extra base hits.  Braden Reed had three hits along with Mason Koons, while Kyle Koehler continued his hot start with two more hits.  Getting the start at third base, Carter Blakeman had three hits and an RBI and Connor Bozak also had two hits and two RBI's.

The Tops were originally scheduled to travel to Terra State on Sunday but the weather will postpone that contest.  Stay updated on the ever changing schedule by following the website and on Twitter at @tricathletics.
