The Women's Basketball Tops had to fight and claw on Saturday afternoon at Clark State as they fought out a gritty road win agains the Eagles, 49-41. Trailing 20-16 a the half the Tops picked up their defensive tenacity and outscored the Eagles 33-21 in the second half to get the hard earned win.
Only Quimari Shelton (23 points and 9 rebounds) was in double figures for the Tops but Tori Smith and Marybella Dunlap continued to be dominating on the boards with 10 rebounds a piece.
With the win, it sets up a 1st vs 2nd showdown on Saturday afternoon as the Tops will travel to league leading Edison State (18-4, 7-0 OCCAC) for a 3 pm tip.
