The Tri-C Women's Basketball Team went 1-1 in Petoskey, Michigan at the North Central Michigan College Tip Off Tourney.
The Tops took down the host school in a Friday night match up, 57-32. Brianna Bunkley led the team with 14 points, while Artica Conner chipped in 10. Amari Hancock led the team on the boards withi 6 rebounds.
On Saturday, the Tops took on last year's Great Lakes District B tournament winners, Grand Rapids CC. The game was tight all the way through with the Raiders holding a 22-19 halftime score. The Tops could just not close the gap in the second half and lost their first game of the season, 49-42. Tori Smith had a monster game for Tri-C with 12 points, 13 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks and her front court teammate, Marybella Dunlap had 10 points and 9 boards.
The Tops are back in action this weekend traveling to Pennsylvania for back to back games against CC of Beaver County and Butler County CC before returning home to host Niagara on the 22nd.
