WBK: Tops Open Season With 76-71 Victory

The Tri-C Women's Basketball team opened up their season with a 76-71 over Henry Ford College Wednesday evening at the Eastern Campus gymnasium.  

The Tops were led by Briana Bunkley who started the season with a double-double with 27 points and 14 rebounds and had 4 assists.  Marybella Dunlap was a monster in the paint with 17 points and 9 rebounds while freshman sharpshooter, Zarina Fader, went 3 for 5 on three pointers to finish with 14 points.

Tri-C jumped out to a 3 point lead at the end of the first quarter and stretched that lead to 42-29 at half and looked to be in full control of the game, however, Henry Ford came back in the 4th quarter and at one poiont cut the lead to three before the Tops pulled away.

The Tri-C Tipoff Tournament for this weekend was cancelled but the Tops have added a game next Wednesday at home against Jamestown Community College.  Tip time will be announced later today.
