On Saturday, The Tri-C Women's Basketball team was defeated by NJCAA Division 3 #2 ranked Owens Express.
The Tops led after the first quarter, 16-13 but a dominant 24-1 second quarter swung the momentum entirely to the home Express. Tori Smith (15 points), Marybella Dunlap (10 points) and Dariah Kirsksey (11 points) were all in double figures for the Tops. Dunlap and Smith both had seven rerbounds while Kirksey chipped in 6 assists.
Tri-C falls to 9-13 on the season and 0-8 in OCCAC play. They will host Lakeland at the Metro Gymnasium on Wednesday night as part of Ben Wallace Jersey Retirement Day at 5:30. The game will be shown on the Tri-C Sports Network accessed from the website. Admission is free and a concession stand is available.
