The Tri-C Women's Basketball team wrapped up their first semester with a 64-55 victory over the visiting Cougars of Kalamazoo Valley CC and moved to 8-5 on the season.
The Tops and Cougars battled back and forth in a spirited first half that ended with the Cougars holding a 29-20 lead. The Tops came out determined in the third quarter and had a 27-13 edge in the third quarter to take the lead and would not reliquish it the rest of the game.
The Tops were led by I'Anna Lopp who scored 16 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Also in double figures were Briana Bunkley (12) and Quimari Shelton(13). Ashley Little hit some key free throws down the stretch as did Marybella Dunlap. Jhordyn Brazziel was a beast on the boards hauling down 16 rebounds.
Tri-C will be off until the new year. They will open the new year hosting Lansing CC at 3 pm at Eastern Campus.
