Tri-C Women's Basketball Falls to #3 Owens, 70-53

The Tri-C Women's Basketball team fell to 6-4 and 0-2 in OCCAC play with a 70-53 defeat at the hands of defending NJCAA Division III National Champions Owens CC Express.  The Express took at 20 point halftime lead and looked like they would run away with the game but the Tops held them scoreless for almost 7 minutes of the the thrid quarter and cut the lead to only single digits but some foul trouble and key turnovers would spell doom as the Tops fell.  

Tri-C was led by Briana Bunkley with 18 points and Mari Shelton with 18 points. Bunkley also added 10 boards and 4 assists on the day.  Both teams shot under 30% from the field.

The women have six days off before they venture to Mott College for a holiday tournament against Alpena Community College 16 December, and Mott Community College on 17 December 2022. The next home game will be on December 21 vs. Kalamazoo CC at noon.
