Tri-C Women's Basketball Falls on Road to Macomb CC, 76-53

Tri-C women's basketball team suffered their third consecutive loss of the season at Macomb on 2 December 2022.

I'Anna Lopp was the leading scorer.  However, her 18 points and four assists were not enough.  The Monarchs held leading scorere, Quimari Shelton, to only nine points but she did grab seven boards while dealing with foul troubles thorough out the contest which ended in a 76-53 defeat.

The Lady Tops were in a nip and tuck early but a flagrant foul changed the course of the game. The Monarchs went to the line 18 more times than the Lady Tops and connected on 11 more free throws.  With Shelton in foul trouble, LaTaljah Cherry picked up the rebounding slack with 10 boards (four offensive). The loss drops the Lady Tops to 5 – 3  (0-1 in the conference) on the season.

The Lady Tops return home on 7 December at 5:30 pm (Marion Sterling Day) to take on Lorain Community College at the Metro Gym.  The Commodores will enter the contest at 1 -3.  The game is free and open to the public.
