Tri-C Softball Splits in Day 2 of The Spring Games
The Tri-C Softball team continued their spring training trip with two more games in Clermont, Florida at Legends Way Fields.
In game 1, the Tops ran into a buzzsaw in St. Louis CC and lost 11-1. Reis Johnson and Mckenna Miller each had hits for the Tops with Miller driving in the only run.
Game 2 saw the Tops come from behind to defeat the Braves of Black Hawk CC for a 6-3 decision. Hallie Mullett got the win in a complete game perfomance, striking out 9 and walking only 1 scattering 7 hits. Leading the offensive charge for the Tops were: Reis Johnson, Mikayla Rash and Maddie Brockman all with two hits on the day. Rash and Brockman each had 2 RBI's while Olivia Lopez and Abbie Gayner also chipped in with an RBI a piece. Gaynor also turned in an outstanding defensive play in the 7th inning to preserve the lead.
The Tops have a busy day on Tuesday as they will play 4 games.
