Lincoln Briggs’s seventh inning heroics give Tri-C baseball sweep of Lakeland

KIRTLAND, Ohio (athletics.tri-c.edu) – Despite finding himself in a bases loaded jam, freshman pitcher Lincoln Briggs was able to play the hero for Cuyahoga Community College (17-12, 5-1 OCCAC) in a narrow 7-4 win over rival Lakeland Community College (9-22, 1-3 OCCAC), April 14.

The Lakers were within striking range to potentially tie or take the lead in the bottom of the seventh, but the freshman pitcher was able to show his stuff in a huge way. Briggs didn't allow a run in the final frame and stranded three Lakers on the basepaths to send the Triceratops home with a decisive series win.
