Triceratops Baseball Coach Called Up to MLB
In a moment that embodies Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®)'s motto, "Where Futures Begin," Triceratops Head Baseball Coach Kyle Stahlberg has been recruited by Major League Baseball's Miami Marlins organization.
"Stahlberg embodies everything we stand for at Cuyahoga Community College," Anthony Franklin, executive director, Tri-C Athletics, Wellness and Recreation, said. "His transition to the Marlins organization proves that dreams don't have expiration dates and that excellence is recognized at every level. Tri-C is truly where futures begin."
At Tri-C, Stahlberg helped build a baseball program that consistently competed at the highest levels of collegiate athletics, including an amazing 41-game winning streak last season. He placed as much emphasis on academic development as athletic development, aware that for his players to truly succeed at Tri-C and beyond, they would need both.
A LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE
During his tenure leading the Triceratops baseball program, Stahlberg:
- Developed championship-caliber teams that competed with fierce determination and sportsmanship
- Mentored countless student-athletes who went on to earn scholarships and compete at four-year schools and pursue professional opportunities
- Elevated program standards through innovative training methods and strategic leadership
- Built lasting relationships that extended beyond the baseball diamond
- Established a winning culture that will continue to inspire future generations of Triceratops
The Miami Marlins' decision to bring Stahlberg into its organization is a testament to the caliber of coaching that has defined Tri-C athletics.
FOREVER A TRICERATOPS
The Triceratops family recognizes that Stahlberg's impact on our program will endure for generations. The values he instilled, the standards he set and the relationships he built have created a foundation that will elevate the Triceratops baseball program long into the future.
Coach Stahlberg leaves behind more than just wins (100+) and losses – he leaves behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, and the unwavering belief that with hard work and dedication, any dream is achievable.
"Tri-C will always hold a special place in my heart. I will continue to cheer on the program and am excited to see how it grows and achieves even greater success in the years to come," Stahlberg said.
Assistant coach Nick Kaplak will take over head coaching duties for the Triceratops.
Congratulations, Coach Stahlberg.
