Bio
Kyle Stahlberg is the head baseball coach at Cuyahoga Community College (TRI-C) and is recognized as one of the most influential leaders in the history of the program.
Stahlberg was responsible for restarting the TRI-C baseball program following the COVID-19 shutdown, inheriting a program that had not competed in years and swiftly rebuilding it into a high-performing team within an already competitive conference and region, returning TRI-C to consistent contention.
Since the program’s return to competition, Stahlberg maintains the highest winning percentage in TRI-C baseball coaching history, compiling a 103–37 overall record. His teams captured back-to-back OCCAC Conference Championships in 2024 and 2025, have qualified for regional bids every year and in 2025 advanced to the NJCAA Regional Championship Series. The 2025 season stands as one of the most dominant in program history, highlighted by a 44–8 record and a top 20 National Ranking. The program made considerable local and regional headlines in 2025 with a remarkable 41 game winning streak, highlighted by several improbable comeback wins.
Stahlberg was named Conference Coach of the Year in both 2024 and 2025. Stahlberg was honored publicly by TRI-C President Michael A. Baston for his leadership, innovation, cultural change, and contributions to TRI-C student-athletes and the overall college experience. The recognition underscores his impact beyond wins and losses, citing his role in elevating standards, strengthening program identity, and enhancing the student-athlete experience across the institution.
A defining element of Stahlberg’s tenure is his commitment to player development and advancement. During his 3 year tenure, Stahlberg helped develop over 20 student-athletes who went on to play at 4 year institutions, with most attending NCAA Division I and II programs throughout the country.
Stahlberg’s coaching philosophy blends traditional fundamentals with modern player-development principles. His teams are known for discipline, preparation, situational awareness, excellent team culture and a strong emphasis on athleticism/ strength, and decision-making.
A vital component of the program’s continued growth is Stahlberg’s partnership with assistant coach Bryan Miller. Stahlberg has consistently expressed gratitude for Miller’s assistance, crediting him as a major influence on both his personal development and the program’s overall success. Their collaboration remains a cornerstone of TRI-C’s culture and competitive consistency.
Prior to his collegiate coaching career, Stahlberg held coaching roles at the high school level, including time as an assistant coach at Olmsted Falls and seven seasons as head coach at Eastlake North High School, where he was recognized as Lake County Coach of the Year. Stahlberg was associated with various travel and youth organizations prior to TRI-C.
Before entering collegiate coaching, Stahlberg signed a professional contract in 2009 with the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League. He also competed on multiple National Championship teams, winning National Titles as a player with the Canton Stallions in 2009 and 2010, and later contributing as a player-coach with the Berea Blue Sox during National Championship seasons in 2021 and 2023.
Stahlberg resides in Northeast Ohio with his family, where he is also a middle/ high school science and math teacher. He maintains strong ties to the region and continues to invest in the baseball community that has shaped both his playing and coaching career.
