Baseball: Mid Season Report, Tops Lead OCCAC, 18-10 Overall

The Tri-C Baseball team currently leads the OCCAC with a 8-2 conference record while holding an 18-10 overall record.  

On offense the Tops are being led by 2nd year player Kyle Koehler who has been scorching the ball.  As of this writing, he is the top hitter in all of NJCAA Division II with a .519 average, while also leading the team with 8 homeruns and 35 RBI's.  Also supporting the offense is last year's OCCAC Player of the Year, Mason Koons, with a .365 average and 29 RBI's.  Brendan Hazuda has also been a stalwart behind the plate and at the plate.  The main catcher is batting .446 with 30 RBI's.  Garrett Grinstead is also hitting above .400 with 26 RBI's.  The team has had 11 different players hit homeruns and is currently #3 in NJCAA Division II with a .368 team average.

On the mound, the team is being led by Ty Pangborn, Layton O'Rourke, Skylar Kries and a slew of others.

The Tops will host Edison State on Saturday at Ron Mottl field, where they are 15-4 on the season, at 3 pm and 5:30 pm in a key OCCAC matchup.
