Tri-C Sports Information Practicum/Volunteer Questionnaire

The Cuyahoga Community College Sports Information & Media Relations Office is seeking volunteer and practicum students. Students must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and good time management. Experience in athletics is not required. Volunteer positions are available during Spring and Fall semesters. Practicums are available in Spring, Summer and Fall semesters.

Students completing a Sports Information practicum/internship can expect:

Work a minimum of hours per week based on course requirements, cinluding office hours and home athletic events;
Be available to work MOST home sporting events across all three campuses (East - Highland Heights, Metro - Cleveland, West - Parma);
Learn what it takes to put on an event at Tri-C, from pregame set up, to in-game execution, to postgame wrap-up and tear down;
Assist with office duties, such as historical research, game notes, game programs, media interviews, and writing and editing of press releases, media guides, and additional materials;
Engage with student-athletes and coaches at events, games, and in office settings;
Learn PrestoSports as well as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop;
Gain experience with digital media, such as graphic design, video production, photography and others;
Potential sport oversight as a primary communications contact.

Students looking to volunteer can expect to:

Be available to assist with home athletic events and office hours as necessary and available;
Assist with office duties such as historical archiving, statistical maintenance and upkeep, production of game notes, media guides, press releases, and other regular releases;
Learn how to manage various parts of the Tri-C Athletics website, including updating schedules and rosters.
Complete tasks such as social media, video interviews, video production, graphic design and other projects of interest.
